Weekend status

Mixing down status - Most of it done
Hours slept this weekend - 4
Red Bull consumed - 8
Hours wasted on hulu - 5
Hours spent on WoW - 1
Hours spent with puppy (on lap)- pretty much the entire time

That pretty much sums it up!

The Clockwork Dolls live show will no longer consist of the same ol' thing.

Oh no...

I want bears...bears on unicycles, bears on balls, bears dancing all with funny cute hats each playing an instrument.

Then for no guns allowed in my bar we'll have an all bear cabaret.

And I mean bears, I want ursine goodness...although for a twist I might ask a bear in a bear costume to bare it all.

BEARS IN BEAR COSTUMES BARING IT ALL.

Good schtick. I'm keeping it...

Day/Week in Summation

  • Aug. 24th, 2009 at 11:24 PM

With a projected deadline of Mid September to have final polished tracks I'm down to the home stretch with two original pieces pending.

This past weekend was a huge waste of time so I have to play a bit of catch up...unfortunately during the work week so we'll see exactly where this goes. I haven't been updating this nearly as much as I should but it's because it's essentially crunch time and there is a LOT of stuff on my plate both band related and real life (Remember that?)

So to those reading, I'm sorry, to those who don't...well that's a bit of a moot point, but there will be a bit of radio silence until I finally get this thing done. Then..well..a retrospective post is most likely in the works.

It's raining it's pouring

And it suits my mood just fine.

It's been a rough day.
Not going to spill my guts out because it's all a mix between the usual bullshit to band bullshit to my personal life bullshit.

But yeah...what a day...
I got some sleep to catch up on and a full day to rest.

That is all.

Solo work ideas

  • Aug. 18th, 2009 at 12:46 AM

I've been working extensively on a dark ambient side project in my mind and it's starting to become clearer in my mind what storyline I should base it off of.

Once I'm finished with The Clockwork Dolls album or two I might consider taking a break to get this out there, will it be instrumental? Most likely, maybe a few vocoded pieces of prose but for the most part ambient. Either way I'm starting to map this out in my head.

Take that genius bar!

Final thoughts on our first show

  • Jul. 17th, 2009 at 11:12 AM

Well it's done, the butterflies have settled and I'm tired despite the fact that I've slept over 8 hours.

It's been an intense few weeks preparing for this moment where we had the opportunity to perform live for the first time. I spent 72 hours alone on a cover, and the a total of 16 working on making the tracks ready and prepping my laptop.

In some ways it was a rousing success, the audience despite being a cold performance (As in they didn't know us) paid attention to us during the performance which is an instant plus. The applause got progressively louder as the show went on which is a great sign.

There were a few technical hiccups, and a few performing hiccups some more glaring than others to work out, what it boils down to is practice and experience. But hey...it was ...our first show! Our premiere! Which we hashed together ...in ...what..THREE weeks?

I viewed this as a learning experience. And I learned something from this experience and our next show will be even better.

http://www.superartfight.com/2009/06/18/super-art-fight-4-presentsthe-clockwork-dolls/

And there you have it...it's official now...

The general idea...
1) We perform two sets of 20 or so minutes
2) While we perform two sets of artists in the webcomic/comic world duke it out over a common theme while they work we perform.
3) Artwork finished within a set period of time then get's judged by a panel and the best artwork wins!
4) Our set begins at 9:45 pm. MAKE NOTE!

Think..artsy iron chef with a band playing (that's us!)

CONFIRMED....
